概述

The Mission of the 健康科学学院 (CHS) 多样性 & 包容 委员会 is to facilitate the development of a culture of belonging through advocating for 多样性, 包容, 和正义. Our purpose is to cultivate an environment where all of our 学生, 工作人员, 教师, and community members can live and work in openness and acceptance; an environment in which people of all backgrounds, 身份, and perspectives can feel secure and welcome. To advance this mission, the 健康科学学院 DEI Fund was established in 2019. As one initiative of the CHS DEI Fund, the CHS 多样性 & 包容 委员会 is pleased to accept proposals for the 多样性、股票、 and 包容 (DEI) Program Grant during the 2024-2025 academic year. DEI资助重点领域

We seek innovative proposals from CHS 教师, 工作人员, 学生, or groups that will facilitate the development of a culture of belonging through embracing 多样性 and 包容 within the college. Proposals should foster 协作 programming and partnerships and may focus on creating new capacity or enhancing existing efforts. 2024-2025奖助金周期, proposals aligned with the following emphasis 是as will be given priority:

  • Sustainable 项目 that increase aw是ness and appreciation for a diverse and 包容 community.
  • Initiatives that focus on a broad constituency in the College, rather than a single unit.
  • Initiatives that will educate the CHS community and others on issues of social justice, 多样性, intercultural dialogue and communication.
  • Strategies to increase belonging and engagement of marginalized, historically underrepresented and minority groups.

奖励标准

Preference is given to proposals that:

  1. 作为 复制和可持续性 throughout the College and campus community,
  2. 包容 of diverse populations across various 身份,
  3. 演示 协作 partnerships within the college (interdepartmental; representation of 学生/教师/工作人员; although they may include other groups, 中心, 项目, registered student organizations…)

These criteria will be evaluated by a subcommittee of the CHS 多样性 & 包容性委员会 to make award decisions during the 2024-2025 grant cycle.


资金

资金 for the DEI计划补助金 depends on the number of proposals and the amount of funds available. 2024-2025奖助金周期, the CHS 多样性 & 包容性委员会 anticipates funding one to three awards for up to $10,000 each. Funds 必须 be accessed and utilized using a 火狐体育下注 cost center by August 31, 2025.

An itemized budget 必须 be provided within the proposal, along with a stated timeline that coincides with the stated purpose. 所有的基金 必须 被用于预定的目的. Funds may not be used to pay University 工作人员, 教师, administrators, or 学生. Funds may be used for existing 项目 where funds 是 currently available, but the proposal 必须 clearly justify how these funds would significantly extend or increase the impact of the program. Grantees 是 required to disclose any additional funding received for their 项目.

The 征集建议书 includes one cycle for funding to be used by 8/31/2025. 具体内容如下:

Application Cycle – Award for Spring 2024 through Summer 2025

  • Proposals open on February 10, 2024 and due by 5:00PM EST on March 29, 2024
  • Notice of funding by April 12, 2025
  • Funds will be available by April 15, 2024 (to be used by 8/31/2025)

Completed applications may be submitted electronically to the chair of the CHS 多样性 & 包容性委员会 DEI Program Fund committee, Dr. Janice Kuperstein jkupe0@vivendaoriente.com , and all components 必须 be received in order to be considered. Proposals will be reviewed and approved or denied within the notice of funding timeframes specified above by the CHS 多样性 & 包容性委员会.
